TOHONO O’ODHAM GAMING OFFICE (TOGO)
Mission
To ensure the orderly and honest conduct of gaming activities within the Tohono O’odham Nation; that such gaming activities are free from criminal and corrupt elements; that all gaming facilities are designed and maintained to assure the safety and comfort of patrons and employees; all of which result in public confidence and trust and therefore, the economic success of gaming activities and the Nation.
Services Provided
The Tohono O’odham Gaming Office does not provide a direct service to the Nation’s members.
The Gaming Office is responsible for regulating the Nation’s Casinos located in Peoria, Why, Sahuarita and Tucson and has offices located in Tucson, Arizona and Peoria, Arizona.
The Tohono O’odham Gaming Office was established in 1993 by the adoption of the “Ordinance for the Regulation of Gaming Activities within the Tohono O’odham Nation”. The Gaming Ordinance provides the authority and administration of the Gaming Office. The authority of the Gaming Office is to regulate gaming conducted on the Nation’s lands. The goal is to establish and maintain gaming integrity for the benefit of the Nation, and the general public. The Gaming Office has the overall civil regulatory authority over gaming activities as documented in the Gaming Ordinance (#1-93).
