To provide services for individuals related to self-advocacy, early childhood development, health education and resources; which will improve their overall well-being.
The Division of Special Needs has 2 programs, the Special Needs Program and the Family Support/Child Development Program.
Special Needs Program
Provides services for individuals related to self-advocacy, early childhood development, health education and resources; which will improve their overall well-being.
Criteria
- Enrolled members of the Tohono O’odham Nation (age 0-Elder)
- Individuals with developmental disabilities
- Individuals with special healthcare needs
Able To Provide the Following documents
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Copy of Tribal & State ID
- Copy of Proof of Address
- Copy of Disability Diagnosis
Family Support/Child Development Program
The FS/CD Program providing families with children birth-to-five years of age with up to date information about health, child development and school readiness. Also, connecting them to critical program services on and off the Tohono O’odham Nation that best meets the family’s needs.
Criteria
- Families with children ages 0-5 who are not enrolled in any Daycare, Head Start or Preschool agency.
- Expecting Mothers
- Families with children 0-5 residing on Tohono O’odham Reservation/Enrolled tribal members living in surrounding communities
