Mission
The Wildlife and Vegetation Management Program is to provide for the conservation, protection, and management of the Nation’s biological resources, implement sound biological studies, and provide education and training for tribal members.
The wildlife and vegetation is under the Department of Natural Resources located on the BIA Compound. Inventories Plants and animals; the ecosystem such as natural habitats; watersheds; and rangelands. Assists in the implementation of conservation and protection programs and education of the Tohono O’odham people in natural resources. Work with outside agencies like the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for training.
Services Provided
Biological surveys, monitoring of wildlife and removal of wildlife, outreach to public on education of wildlife and vegetation, Inventory wildlife and vegetation of their habitat.
