The Legislative Branch will operate the Visitor Center and the O’odham Campsite during the Mali:na
pilgrimage. The following information is provided for Nation’s members traveling to Mali:na.
- What are the Tohono O’odham Visitor Center hours?
- Wednesday, Oct. 1 – 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Thursday, Oct. 2 – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Friday, Oct. 3 – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Saturday, Oct. 4 – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Sunday, Oct. 5 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: Small courtyard north of the plaza, next to the women’s restrooms.
Note: Water and snacks will be available at the Visitor Center.
- When is the O’odham Campsite open?
Opens: Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 12:00 PM
Closes: Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12:00 PM (24-hour access)
Campsite Guidelines:
- Reserved for tribal members staying more than one day.
- Registration at the Visitor Center is required before setting up.
- Overnight vehicles only are permitted inside the camp; day-use parking is not allowed.
- Space is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Location: The campsite is located south of the church in Magdalena.
A map will be provided at the Visitor Center and shared electronically.

- The campsite is fenced with a chain-link gate.
- Local police officers will patrol the area.
- Will there be larger crowds this year?
Yes. Larger crowds are expected because Saturday, Oct. 4 falls on the weekend. - What should I bring for the campsite?
- Warm clothing (nights and mornings are cold).
- Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottles.
- Shade: No covering is provided at the campsite—bring canopies, umbrellas, or tarps.
- Are restrooms and showers available at the campsite?
Yes. Portable restrooms and showers will be available at the campsite
