The greater part of the Building Inspectors work is conducting inspections for one and two family dwellings. Most times the request for assistance has them assessing an existing building to determine how safe and structural sound a clients’ home is for proposed renovations. Once the report is completed and handed over; it is up to the client to decide on repairs or restoration to their home. The Inspectors stay with the project to the completion of the work, conducting ongoing inspections to ensure the job completed according to Code. With storm or fire damaged homes, the assessments and inspections require more thorough checks.
To a greater extent, as renovations to homes occur, the clients are choosing to recondition the homes to acceptable ADA Standards. The Inspectors are there to ensure the work adheres to these guidelines.
Our Inspectors are involved in inspections for larger public and commercial projects.
